Mode Defi Degen Hack

Mode is looking for the top DeFi chads to compete online and build the future of DeFi on Mode. Degens, Miladys, Humble Farmers and any other sort of web3 participants are welcome.

We are pleased to invite DeFi innovators to push the boundaries of DeFi during this hackathon. Take a new idea from product to mainnet deployment with support from the Mode team. Winners will receive prizes, grants and support to scale their project on Mode and across Optimisms' Superchain.

This event will be fully online and we welcome hackers from all over the world.

Requirements

WHAT SHOULD YOU BUILD?

You are the degen, you know what you want! We want to see your creativity to its fullest extent and see all the apps needed for a thriving DeFi ecosystem. Bridges, DEXs, aggregators of any sort, distribution or payment dApps, anything you can think of is welcomed.

The main goal here is to take advantage of Mode's unique qualities and special features, such as the SFS (for more details on SFS here). We encourage you to build on top of it, exploit it as much as you can, and generate that sweet sweet revenue from the activity your app brings onchain.

Submission Requirements

To have an accepted submission, you will need to provide:

GitHub Repository: A link to the GitHub repository with all the code. It can be a monorepo or multiple links if your app consists of several parts. We push for open source code, but if it's really necessary to have it private, you will have to include the judges for them to see the repo.

Video Demo: A video recorded with Loom giving a quick demo of the app (please keep it under 5 minutes). The demo should ideally cover the key features and how your app works and leverages Mode's capabilities. Remember: Short but complete is always the goal!

Project Documentation: The GitHub repository must include a README with a brief explanation of the project. This is mandatory for understanding the context and functionality of your app.

Optional but Highly Encouraged:

Deployed Frontend: A link to the deployed frontend for us to test/see the dApp in action. This allows for a hands-on evaluation of your project.

Additional Guidelines:

Video Demo Tips: Your video should demonstrate the main functionality of your app, how it integrates with Mode, and any unique features or innovations. Keep it concise and focused. Please be mindful about the quality of the video and sound. Loom is a great tool to record demos!

Documentation Best Practices: Apart from the README, detailed documentation of your code and its functionality will be highly appreciated. This helps in thoroughly understanding and evaluating your project.

We look forward to seeing your innovative solutions and how you harness the power of Mode to create DeFi apps!
